Yijin Zhu

Yijin Zhu is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Netherlands. She studied Fine Arts at AKI ArtEZ University of the Arts. Her practice explores identity, the relationship between individuals and space, and intimate human interactions. Through performative and installation-based works, she initiates dialogues in public spaces, blurring the boundaries between the private and the collective. Influenced by Allan Kaprow and Sophie Calle, she views the audience as co-creators and considers art a medium for connection—between people, and between people and space. Her work responds to the fluid structure of contemporary society, aiming to create temporary encounters where individuals can reflect on selfhood and otherness in a decentralized environment.
